Apparently people weren’t entirely pleased with Sunday night’s Oscar telecast. Anne Hathaway was overeager. James Franco was undereager. The winners were predictable. No one could speak in coherent sentences. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Obviously all these Oscar haters didn’t have four bottles of wine between two people and a handy drinking game to keep them [...]

Reactions: 2010 Emmy Nominations

I have come to expect an uneven combination of both elation and severe disappointment on Emmy nomination mornings. There was a time when I would let myself get angrier than I do now. Perhaps I’ve become hardened over the years, but it’s just not worth my energy to get too worked up over award show [...]

I could never talk about SEX AND THE CITY 2 as well or as humorously as The Stranger or Roger Ebert, but I still find myself needing to add to the negative reactions to the movie that are already out there. I approached SATC2 as a huge fan of the original series and even of [...]

Did you forget that there’s a fifth network? Yeah, I forget sometimes too. There’s really not much to talk about with the CW anyway. The network is only debuting two new shows in the fall. One is about cheerleaders in college. The other is about a butt-kicking former assassin. Below is the CW’s fall schedule. [...]
Reactions: CBS’s Fall 2010 Schedule

CBS made the boldest changes to their schedule this year, like moving THE BIG BANG THEORY to Thursdays at 8 p.m. to compete against NBC’s COMMUNITY. I can’t believe the two nerdiest shows on television are now programmed opposite each other. Curse you CBS! Hopefully COMMUNITY can hold its own and not lose its audience. [...]
Reactions: ABC’s Fall 2010 Schedule

The only time slot change ABC made to its returning shows was moving THE MIDDLE up by a half hour to 8 p.m. on Wednesday nights. Other than that, it stuck to the status quo and scheduled three of its new shows at the 8 p.m. hour, giving them no lead-in from an established show. [...]
Reactions: FOX’s 2010 Fall Schedule

With fewer holes to fill than NBC, FOX only has three new series lined up for the fall–two comedies and a drama. More new shows are set to debut at midseason, but because so much can change between now and January, I’m only focusing on the fall schedules. One interesting change in the midseason schedule, [...]
Reactions: NBC’s 2010 Fall Schedule

Below is NBC’s 2010 fall schedule. My first reaction: Why in the world is PARKS AND RECREATION being held to midseason??? NBC finally has two hours of good comedy, so of course the only thing that makes sense is bringing in a new comedy and pushing a critical darling with huge stars to midseason. (Hello! [...]
Reactions: DANCING WITH THE “STARS”

If you tuned into last night’s BACHELOR finale or if you ever go online ever, then you’ve already seen the new list of “stars” for this season’s DANCING WITH THE STARS. I don’t tend to watch the show because I have so much other TV on my plate. But for some reason, my mother thinks [...]
Reactions: Oscar Nominations

I never thought February 2nd would get here! There’s only one day every year when I’m exited to wake up at 7:30 a.m. when I don’t have to, and that is Oscar nomination day. I wasn’t expecting to be surprised or upset by any nominations this year because the categories seemed more predictable than usual. [...]
